April sponsor swap...

This morning it was a beautiful crisp blue sky day, and now it's snowing like crazy!!
Good old Spring weather...
At least we got to enjoy some sunny time outside, and now we are cozily sipping tea at home.

I'm thinking of doing a sponsor swap for the month of April, if anyone is interested write me at

Almond Butter...

I baked some fresh bread yesterday and made some almond butter in my Vitamix!
It was super easy, I soaked about 1.5 cups of Almonds over night, then roasted them in the oven to dry out.
I blended them in the Vitamix with 1 tbls of honey and about 2 tbls of coconut oil for a couple of minuets.
Yum, yum Mak's been gobbling it up!

Since Google Reader is closing down I've joined BlogLovin!

Diy Chalk Paint...

I've been so happy with my table!

Laytex paint
Plater of Paris
Clear Wax finish
Wax cloth

Mix your plaster of paris first to make sure it's properly mixed up. I bought mine at home depot.
Mix 3 parts paint to the 1 part plaster of paris.
I think I only used about 1 cup of paint for the base.
I did 2 coats, but I should have done 1 more of the white on the top!
Let it sit and dry for a day, and then apply the wax finish following directions.

Meal ideas...

I've been trying to eat raw vegetables instead of cooked so I threw these meals together the last couple nights. Both were really fast to make!
Since I just make it up I don't really have a recipe, but I've tried to put one together for you.

Above: Sausage Lettuce Wraps
1 head butter lettuce, carefully peal off leaves
Approx. 4 of your choice of sausages , fry them up
1/2 cup cooked red quinoa
1/4 cup Sprouted bean mix
1 big grated beet
2 grated carrots
Chop sausages up and top lettuce with small amount of all ingredients.
Also tasty with a mexican hot sauce!

Above: Curry Chicken with Salad
4 organic chicken drumsticks
Teaspoon curry paste, rub all over chicken.
Cook for 30 mins in oven at 400
Organic green lettuce
Organic baby spinach
Organic kale
Half an advacado, in chunks
1/4 Cooked but cooled red quinoa
1/4 cup sprouted bean mix
Tablespoon hemp hearts
Tablespoon Chia seeds
Tablespoon buckwheat
Dress it with olive oil, a drizzle of red wine vinegar, and balsamic reduction to your liking

Sorry for the lack of detail, I just always seem to wing my meals,
but at least I know they are made with good produce and healthy!

I got this adorable toothpick holder the other day, and my mom bought me one of these Tillandsia (air plant) for it.  I was wondering what I was going to use it for, but the plant sits in there perfectly.
Thanks mom!
