Table Refinish

So i've finally managed to take of shot of my refinished table.
It was originally in my office, you can find some more pictures here.
It turned out so pretty that I decided to use it in our living room instead.
I'm still not quite finished with the final design of this area, I would like my husband to build a rustic box to place under the table, so I can have some nice blankets and such instead of the little trunk.
I would also love to get rid of that black VCR, but since the little guy has so many videos I need it around. I would love to find a cool way to hide it, any suggestions anyone?

Refinishing

I decided to take on some refinishing, well little did I know it took sooo much time! I've only completed one chair and I still have 5 to go, and a table! I think once i'm done though the final finish will be great, I just need to find the time to do it all.
The table is also dark wood.  I plan on painting the legs white and sanding the top and re-staining it a light maple colour.
I will post pictures when I'm finally done!

Shabby makeover part2

Hi there! So this is my desk area, where I sit every morning and blog!
I needed a place to put my printer (instead of in the chair) so for the time being i'm using this really ugly white shelf. Lucky I have some cute fabric and I've covered the top with it. Not the most appealing piece in the room, but it has it's functions.  I do also have a white shelf holding more of my vintage saucers and random things, but it isn't fully painted yet so you will have to wait.

Thanks for all the sweet comment's from yesterday! I'm going to paint the small desk soon, but I'm worried about the top scratching because I use it as my work area. Does anyone know how to finish the top so all the paint doesn't scratch off?

My Shabby makeover

Yay, so I've finally gotten my room to a likeable state! The design is definitely eclectic, modern with shabby chic.  I realize that this taste isn't for everyone but at this point of my life I'm loving it! I need a room that inspires me to be creative, and that I love spending time in, and this is it!
You've got to keep in mind that I've spent maybe $100 on this room. It is mostly done with things i've  thrown together from around the house, and things I got at second hand stores, craigslist, or winners.  I might try to paint the table white, but I need to wait till we have a few day's of guaranteed Sun. I think it doesn't look half bad for BUDGET decorating!
I will show the other side of the room tomorrow because there are just too many pictures!
xoxo

Vintage cups

With all the talk of vintage, I scanned the net and found some beautiful images of teacups & saucers.  Makes me want to go to the second hand stores some more!  Since it's actually a beautiful sunny day, a walk might be in order!

Sweet finds

Sorry friends and followers, we went on vacation for 2 weeks, and ended up staying a month!  A nice treat to end the year! I would love to show you some pictures, but unfortunately my computer is full and we are in the process of buying a new one. Hopefully within the next week I can post, I took some amazing sunset photos!!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year! I'm excited to start posting what this year will bring!!!

I've been doing the second hand store shopping around town, and have started collecting antique floral dishes. The bottom 4 pictures are my finds so far, it's like going on a treasure hunt!!
The picture below is of a Shabby Chic cup I fell in love with at Winners, mmm and I made some good hot chocolate to go in it!
The second picture is of my Babushka Dolls, also known as Matryoshka Dolls from Russia. My step mother brought these back to me when she went to Russia. My new project which I hope to be starting soon (after the house is back in order) is to sew the dolls, as little girl toys.  Thanks for stopping by, Tereza
