Garden Treats

It was raining again yesterday and I remembered there were a lot of raspberries on our bush and I didn't want them to rot.

So I went outside to pick them and got these other goodies too! 

ohh I love summer, when you can just go and pick food, and beautiful flowers from your garden.

I made a kale, raspberry, mint, and lemon smoothie, yum!

Garden Quinoa Salad

If you know me you know I just wing recipes, so I'll do my best to make it accurate :)

Garden Quinoa Salad:

1 cup cooked and cooled red or white quinoa

1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved 

3 small organic carrots chopped

1/4 of a yellow pepper chopped 

1 or 2 celery sticks chopped

1/4 cup homemade chopped picked beets 

4 large curly kale leaves finely chopped 

4 fresh basil leaves diced

2 tablespoons hemp hearts 

handfull of chopped nuts, I used almond and cashew 

1/4 cup or more crumbled goats cheese 

 A bit of pink himalayan salt, drizzle with olive oil, and white wine vinegar. 

Once served drizzle with Balsamic reduction 

This salad is so delicious, easy to make, and can be substituted with so many yummy things!

It was our second wedding anniversary on Monday!

Our friends wedding this weekend was also absolutely beautiful, I can't wait to share some photos.

Red & White

Are you sick of my strawberry shots yet? 

I just can't help it they are so pretty!

We actually just ended up eating them all like this, they looked so tempting on the table.

Guess we'll just have to go pick a few more.... :)

(and yes those are real roses, gorgeous aren't they!)

We are off to Hornby Island, my husband and I are in a wedding party this weekend for some amazing friends, so I'll see you next week!

Strawberry Fields

Yesterday it was just nice enough in the morning to go pick strawberries!

We've eaten a ton, but now i'd like to figure out something yummy I could make with them....

Any suggestions?

Fresh Smoothie

I make smoothies everyday.

Today I made one with fresh strawberries, mango, spinach, kiwi, mint, and lime. 

yes i love you green smoothies.....

A walk in the park

We had a great Fathers Day Sunday!

 Went out for lunch, had an evening walk, and bbq'd on the deck. 

A great way to spend the day....

Succulents

Seems like forever since I've blogged, we've been at the grandparents on Hornby Island for a while!

They have a 10 acre farm and I love just walking around taking photos of all the beautiful stuff, including these amazing succulents, and I even got sent home with some :)

Birthday Peonies

It was my Birthday yesterday! The hubby brought me home the most beautiful bouquet of peonies so i've been taking pictures like crazy :)

I had a lovely evening with my 2 loves eating take out Thai food and watching a movie...

Bathroom

I've finally gotten around to painting the bathroom, and now that it's done I can't believe I haven't done it sooner!  

It's not exactly my dream bathroom,

 but since we still rent I have to work with what I've got and I think it turned out very pretty.

I was so excited to frame the little water colour cruiser bike I painted, and it looks just lovely in there :)

It is a teeny tiny bathroom so the creamy white made it feel open and bigger.

 I brought my camera while I was out and about yesterday and took some fun shots.

I love bright colourful buildings! 

This pink cruiser bike makes me want one soo bad, do any of you have one!?

Earrings

Do you remember my water colour picture above? 

Well this is why I painted it and the cruiser bike too...

I'm so happy with the way the earrings turned out, I can't wait to pull out my brushes again!
